Harvest

After the smolt has been thoroughly quality-checked and vaccinated, it is put into our marine fish plant. Salmon and Fjord Trout is produced through Firda Sjøfarmer AS. Firda Sjøfarmer AS operates fish farms in saltwater in the communities Gulen, Hyllestad and Askvoll, and has 14 licenses. Firda has a capacity of 10.104 tons MAB, and has 30 employees.

The fish stays in saltwater for 12-18 months to achieve the desired weight of about 5 kg. During the saltwater phase, the fish are checked regularly to ensure the desired quality of both colour and fat content.

Firda Seafood is particularly concerned with fish feed. In order to produce first-class products we are dependent on the feed containing all the substances that give salmon and fjord trout plenty of omega 3. By using formulas developed together with fish feed specialists, we can ensure that the salmon and fjord trout is rich in marine nutrients.
